Friday morning: I’ve made the mistake of heading for the Grand Canyon at the weekend – the motels are booked up and probably the campgrounds too, so I might have to camp in the forest. Or I might not go at all today – there’s no hurry and it’s going to get cold tomorrow. I shouldn’t have mentioned headaches yesterday. I haven’t had one since we split up but now I have a cracker. It was probably just from doing the ironing. Plus after a couple of days in a womb-like sleeping bag I climbed into a huge king-sized bed last night to find no-one waiting for me, so I’m feeling rather down today. I should have kept moving, like I’ve been trying to. I’d got used to being away from Sara for three weeks or so at a time because of my trips back to the UK, and now we’re past three weeks. Anyway, I’ll perk up. This was just to say that I may or may not be in the middle of nowhere tonight, so you might not hear from me for a day or two. Towns are few and far between out here. No need to worry.

I don’t think that anyone that knows you well ( and I’ve known you a mere 47 years !) would think that you are being self indulgent, and you are certainly not insulting sara by taking this journey, I would say if i thought that was in the slightest bit true.
You are going through a hundred and one different emotions and from someone that has been there and bought the t shirt (more than once) I would say you are getting through this the best way you can and it is the best therapy you could have . You have to go through it to come out the other side – and you will !!! , and its far better to do it in some rather stunning places than in a dingy b&b in rainy old England !! Take care and keep in touch as much as you can. Love you sis xxx
Hope the headache subsides.
I can confirm that Sara is NOT insulted by your journey and only wants you to enjoy yourself and be safe.
Well good. I’m relieved to hear that. I’m safe, thank you. I hope you’re doing ok too.
Your sister sounds like a sweet gal, Steve. I like her already!
She’s amazing. I’m very lucky to have two such loving sisters.
Well – thank you Norm !
I am about to walk out the door for work so you have put an “extra spring ” in my step this morning by saying such a sweet comment – so thank you for that.
As I said in an earlier post your paintings and drawings are reallly amazing – so the compliment comes swinging back to you !
Thank you, Lynne. I’m glad Steve has such a kind and supportive sis!
